Standard or tele lens
AXIS 225FD is available in two variants with a choice of lens for distance and scene dimensions. The standard variant gives a viewing angle of 36° - 75°. The AXIS 225FD 22 mm, with its tele varifocal lens, provides a viewing angle of 10-20º, which makes the camera particularly suited for recognition of objects and individuals through high-mounted cameras in spacious indoor or outdoor locations.
Power over Ethernet
 Support for Power over Ethernet allows the camera to receive both data and power over a single Ethernet cable - which makes the installation easier and cheaper. If connected to a central Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), the camera can continue to operate even when there is a power failure.

The compact and cost-efficient design enables easy and flexible installation with tamper-proof mounting on wall or ceiling. It allows for versatile adjustment by panning, tilting and rotating the varifocal lens to any camera angle desired.
The built-in Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) support enables power to the camera to be delivered via the network, eliminating the need for a power outlet and reducing installation costs. In addition, the consolidation of power gives higher reliability if connected to a central Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).
The built-in heater and fan protect against low temperatures and help prevent the glass from misting over.

You can set up a complete new network video system using your existing network cables with nothing more than a switch for connecting your AXIS 225FD network cameras. This actually gives you two independent networks. Any computer with permission can then view live video from anywhere over the LAN, WLAN, or Internet – and from several different locations simultaneously.
